Soonae Tark

Exhibition “2021”

Soonae Tark continues to exhibit her reductive, colorful geometric work in galleries, museums, and public spaces. She is a recipient of Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant. One of her public arts  can be seen at the MTA subway station at “Buhre Ave. Station,” in the Bronx.She has her BFA from Dongduk Women’s University in Seoul, Korea  and her MFA from the  École Nationale Supérieure des  Beaux-Arts de  Lyon, France.  She lives and works in New York City.

STATEMENT

My current work on paper, the “Crush” series, consists of cut acrylic painted paper that plays with forms, colors and builds-up shapes to create a visual language and  find balance.  I enjoy working on paper, because it’s easy to manipulate as a material and I can play with details.

Exhibition “2021”

As a celebration that 2020 has ended and that a new year is here, FLATFILE has launched a new online program title, simply: “2021.”


We invited artists to participate through a rolling open call, which remains open for the entirety of this year. From these submissions, our jury panel carefully selects new works to present on FLATFILE, with new works added throughout all of 2021.

The price of each artwork is a flat $2,021,

a discounted price from the actual value of each work, offered here, exclusively.
