This city and I have been through so much together. The Aids epidemic, the crack years, various crime waves, the first WTC attack, 9/11, collapsing buildings, Hurricane Sandy and so much more. And now the Pandemic.
I dream about the city all the time, a manifestation of both my love and my anxiety. Frequently these dreams take the form of nature reclaiming the city. I dream of giant vines and flowers growing over the towers and hiding them from view.
