Joshua Nierodzinski and Nataša Prljević
Joshua Nierodzinski and Nataša Prljević are collaborative visual artists based in Brooklyn.
Their ongoing series of collages, Nomadic Objects, are made from salvaged and gifted materials from studios and galleries in New York where the artists’ worked as fabricators, art handlers, and administrators. The foundation of Nomadic Objects are Josef Albers’ color exercises donated by the artists and students who made them. Albers’ exercises have become common educational tools in Europe and America to explore color relationships. By integrating drawings of institutional architecture that can be perceived simultaneously as intimate and monumental, Nierodzinski and Prljević emphasize the scale-shifting present in the interplay of color dynamics to playfully reconstruct notions of modernity.
