About Artist
I studied painting at the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture. After graduating in 2007, I had my first solo show at the Robert Steele Gallery in Chelsea in 2008. The following years saw me splitting my time between Thailand and the United States; continuing to establish my work while living in NYC, Los Angeles, CA and Nashville, TN. Awards include the Hohenberg Travel Grant (Italy), Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture (Fellowship), Masur Museum of Art’s 35th Annual Juried Competition (Best Painting), VCCA Resident Fellow (Virginia Center for the Creative Arts), Award of Merit at the 18th Da Dun Fine Arts Exhibition of Taichung City (Taiwan), 2021 Mercedes Matter Award. Currently I am living and working at the Jersey Shore.
Statement of this collection
Spring is Love time is Your time is My time is Our time is Sun is Sea is Me is You.
I think of you, I think of colors, I think of the nature. I explore it through the abstract and try to understand that which I don't or don't want to understand focusing on the application of paint in a search for fulfillment through layering of colors and forms. I paint and draw from observation and invention to seek contrast and subtlety of value in the spaces between.
